Back when I first met Brad, he mentioned wanting to go to Maine, because it was someplace he had never been. A year later, we were on our way... We spent most of the trip at Acadia National Park, which is near Bar Harbor, Maine.


After our trip, several people asked me what there was to do in Maine. There was definitely no shortage of things to do, so we'll be going back someday!



Things we had time to do:
  • Go out to dinner for Maine lobster
  • Hike along the coast on Ocean Trail in Acadia National Park
  • Drive along Park Loop Road on Mount Desert Island
  • Check out Sand Beach
  • Drive to the top of Cadillac Mountain
  • Have pie made with Maine blueberries for dessert
  • Go boating in Frenchman Bay -- We saw two bald eagles
  • Drive down scenic Highway 1 between Bar Harbor and Portland
  • Shop at the L.L.Bean store in Freeport


Things we'll have to do next time:
  • Biking in Acadia National Park
  • Deep sea fishing
  • White-water rafting
  • More hikes in Acadia National Park
  • Check out more beaches along the coast of Maine
  • Whale-watching cruises
  • Ferry to Nova Scotia
  • Go canoeing
