When we visited Europe in 2000 (link to Europe web page), we had such a good time that we immediately started saving so we could go back and see more. This is our triumphant return. As we saw much of Western Europe on our first trip, we decided to see some of Northeastern Europe this time around.

We visited our first three countries by land tour. We flew through England on our way to Budapest, Hungary. We spent a few days in Hungary and then moved to Vienna, Austria. Lisa and I have been to Austria before, but we managed to find a bunch of new things to explore. After a few days in Austria, we moved to Telc and Prague, Czech Republic. From Prague, we flew to Copenhagen, Denmark where we caught our ship -- The Grand Princess (below).

This ship was built in 1998. It is 951 feet long with 118 feet breadth. It has a fuel capacity of 2649 tons and has a cruising speed of 22.5 knots. The normal passenger capacity is 2,600 with a crew of 1,150.

By ship we visited the remaining seven countries of our trip. Lisa and I had already been to Germany, but not Berlin so this was a new experience. When the cruise ended, we stayed one extra day in Copenhagen to explore on our own.

As you can see, our cruise started in the Scandinavian countries and then cruised around the Baltic. This included some satellite countries of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). The main attraction on this cruise through the former communist countries was Russia itself.
The total trip was almost three weeks and we had a great time exploring. We probably enjoyed the land tour best. Our group on the land tour was small (only 17) and we met some very nice people. In fact, here they are:

Well, enough talking. It's time to get started. You can follow the links consecutively or you can pick and choose the countries. Join us on our journey!!!!!!!!
