Fort Catherine

Our next stop is Fort Saint Catherine, which is close to the town of Saint George's.  Since you can't rent a car in Bermuda and we didn't want to risk road rash on a scooter in the rain, Lisa figured out the bus system.  We rode all the way from our end of the island to the other, which is St. George's.  We had lunch there and checked out the town.

We had a great time in Bermuda and only had two wishes:  1) We wish we had better weather!  and, 2) We wish it wasn't so expensive!  We would probably be interested in going back since it is nice and so close -- however, it costs so much that I doubt we will return.

We think our own Luray Caverns is better, but this was still a nice cave

Hamilton

We rode the bus part way back towards our side of the island and stopped in Hamilton.  There was a big cruise ship stopped next to this street.  We had dinner at the pub that supposedly started the idea for the TV show Cheers.

Brad and Lisa going home

Our cabbie was real nice.  When he picked us up to take us to the airport, he asked how we had enjoyed his island.  We said we enjoyed it very much, except for the rain.  He apologized and said he would do something about it.  He took us to his two favorite stops on the island.  This one above is a lookout with a good view of a harbor.  The really nice thing is he shut off the meter to take us to these two stops.  How many cabbies have done that for you?  This was my first.

Standing on Bermuda

This water garden is a map of Bermuda.  He joked that we would walk across Bermuda in less than a minute.
