I remember that this was right before I got my braces, because Maria managed
to catch me messing with the spacers between my teeth. How about those really
cool 70's-looking plastic flowers hanging in my room?

Here are Jenni and I with that "just walked home from school" hairdo.
And that was one of my favorite books in my hand, "Where the Lilies Bloom."
There was a TV movie made from that one. This is one of the few pictures of me
with braces, although you can't really see them in the scanned photo.
