One of the things I miss most about living in Omaha is being able to spend time with my mom. We made pretty good shopping partners, whether it was at the mall, at the antique shops, or in the Old Market. And we always had plenty of ideas for places to go for lunch.

For my thirtieth birthday, mom and I went to Portland to visit Lynn. The three of us and Lynn's friend Suzi spent a couple of days in Seattle doing some sightseeing and shopping. And while we were in Portland we went out to a really good restaurant, which was part of the McCormick and Schmick's chain.
