BUNGY JUMP

Launa and I decided we wanted to go bungy jumping.  We went to spend Christmas in Canada one year and we actually went.  We jumped on December 22, 1991 at around noon.  I weighed 183 lb. at the time (wow, I have gained 50 lb. since 91 (ouch)).  Anyway, the bridge is 140 feet tall and is located at Nanaimo, Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA.  I know all this because I found the card we had to fill out :-)  I am guessing they wanted to know your weight so they use the proper bungy cords?  I was pretty nervous about it.  I almost think I found it a little more nerve wracking than skydiving.  I was a little disturbed too when I realized they don't tie the bungy to you.  They just put like a slip knot around your ankles.  Ugh.  Anyway, I got the nerve up and did my swan dive.  It was fun.  Launa took a really long time up there on the bridge, but eventually she jumped too.  She didn't swan dive properly though.  I think she just stepped off so she bounced all over the place when the cord stretched.  It was pretty funny!

There is the jump station

That is the platform used for jumping

Getting tied up

Here I am getting attached to the bungy cord

Are you ready?

Ready, set, JUMP!

falling

Yup, that's me falling through the air

Someone get me!

That's all.  That little boat pulls you down and then put you back on shore.
