The Jefferson Memorial, from across the Tidal Basin
Brad and I made two trips to see the cherry blossom trees this year.
On our first trip, not many of the trees were blooming, so Brad was
nice enough to agree to go back downtown with me the following week! :-)
Me the first week, near one of the trees that was blooming.
Despite the crowds, it was a really nice day for a walk around the
Tidal Basin. It was one of the first 80 degree days we've had since
last summer.
Brad, with the Washington Monument in the background.
The first week we walked all the way around the Tidal Basin. The second week,
we didn't walk quite as far, so we didn't see the trees that were destroyed by
the pair of beavers that the Park Service was trying to catch.
